What Is Salvation?

According to the SDA Encyclopedia it is “God’s gracious provision for delivering sinners from the penalty and the power of sin, and for restoring them to their original state of perfection.”

The encyclopedic explanation also says “Salvation comes as a free gift of God’s grace, and is accepted by faith in Christ. It is available to all, but becomes a reality only in the experience of those who, by their own free choice, accept it.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” So, we are saved by faith in Jesus and not by what we do. You cannot earn your way to heaven through what you do, it is a free gift through faith.

There's More!

If that wasn’t enough (or if you want to hear more on this topic) watch this 28 and a half minute video to give you a good overview of what salvation means and why we need Jesus Christ as our Savior.

How Do I Receive This Free Gift Of Salvation?

Romans 10:9-10 says, “…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Confess your sins. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

There Are Only Two Choices

Watch this short video that explains these two choices.

Is It Really That Simple?

Just ask for forgiveness and God forgives? Yes! But, you must have true repentance. Watch this one minute video which explains this very well.

Just Ask!

If you believe that you are ready to accept Christ into your life, then pray this simple prayer.

Heavenly Father, I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life.
I want forgiveness for my sins.
I believe Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again from the grave.
Father, I surrender my life to you to do with as you wish.
I want Jesus to come into my life and into my heart.
This I ask in Jesus’ name.
Amen

Congratulations! You are a child of God. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…”

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. ”

Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
